Reuse and Share BOQ Worksheets

A large part of the effort involved in developing a cost estimate and preparing a tender is encapsulated in the composition of the worksheets of bill items. Within the various classes of construction projects, e.g. building construction or roadworks, it is common for activities to recur. In the previous section, plastering of interior walls was used as an example and it is reasonable to expect that plastering will be involved in most building construction projects. Furthermore, it is not uncommon for a large BOQ to contain two or more bill items that have a similar work breakdown structure. Instead of having to build up the worksheets of recurring items from scratch, it makes sense to reuse or share parts of existing worksheets with a similar structure and resource components.
