Bid Attributes

Before we move on to the next section, it will be useful to discuss bid attributes. Bid attributes are similar to resource attributes, with the only difference being bid attributes are groupings of line items instead of resources.

A typical example would be something like trades, as seen in the screenshot above, i.e. you might want to group together all of the line items that fall under earthworks, masonry, plumbing, etc.

Bid attributes are created in exactly the same way as Resource Attributes, with the only difference being that you will find them in the action tab within the BOQ/Bid module. You can also have an unlimited amount of bid attributes and a line item can have more than one attribute assigned to it. Another good example of a bid attribute would be to create a markup group where you can group items as high risk, medium risk, and low risk and assign different markups to those groups.

You can assign a bid attribute to a line item by selecting the kebab menu (three vertical dots) that appears when you hover your mouse over a line item. This will open a menu that gives you the option of applying a bid attribute:

You also have the option of selecting more than one line item at a time in order to apply an attribute to multiple line items at once. You can do this by selecting the square boxes on the left-hand side of the items and then the kebab menu will appear at the top (just left of ITEM NUMBER).
