Step 3 - Import the Bid Items from Excel

When opening the BOQ module for the first time using the Navigation Bar inside of the project you will see that Trimble Quest brings up the following prompt asking you whether you want to import a BOQ:

Select the appropriate file format, select Next and then upload the Excel file that you prepared earlier. This will bring us to the final screen where we can assign columns, so here we need to label the columns of the imported file so that Trimble Quest knows what information is contained in which column:

You will notice in the example I left the Payment Clause column as IGNORE, so Trimble Quest will not import it. If I wanted to import that column as well I would just have to assign the Payment Clause heading to it from the drop-down menu.

Another thing to note is to flag the Section Depth column that we created when we prepared the file for import so that the BOQ sections can be created with the import.

Lastly, simply click Next to import the bid items.
