Step 3 - Add Resources to the Cluster
Mortar is made up of building sand (defined as measured in tons), cement (defined as measured in 80 lb bags), and building water(defined as measured in kilogallons).
So in order to get the per cubic yard allowable cost of mortar we have to first add the component resources to the cluster and then transform the allowable cost per unit of measure of the component resources into a per cube allowable for each of them.
We can add resources to the cluster by going to Insert in the Action Tab on the right, using the search box at the top to find the appropriate resources, and then double-clicking on them in order to add them to the cluster:
In the above example, I’ve added building sand, so in order to have all of the component resources for Mortar, we will need to still add building water and cement to the cluster.
If you find that you don’t have a resource in your resource list that you need for your cluster, you can create a new resource on the fly within the cluster by using the blue Create & Insert Resource button at the bottom of the Insert box.
You are also able to insert a cluster into a cluster, by selecting the Insert Clusters option at the bottom of the Insert box.
