Step 1 - Switch on a Measurement Quantity Column
We can switch columns on and off with Columns found inside of the Action Tab on the right. Columns will always be found in the Action Tab regardless of which module you are working in, but for the moment we want to stay working in the BOQ module:
You will notice that there are four types of columns that you can select, general columns, attribute columns, measurement columns, and breakdown Columns.
General columns allow you to switch on and off things like the description, payment clause, worksheet code, etc. Attribute columns allow you to switch on and off a column showing the bill attributes that have been assigned to the line item.
We will get to break down columns a little bit later, but for the moment we want to keep working with measurements, so we want to switch on a measurement column so that we can define the quantities for that measurement.
When opening the measurement columns you will see that by default we are again in the Tender Timeline and we are looking at the Bill Quantity measurement. Underneath the Select Measurement box, you will see there are four switches, namely Quantity, Net Amount (qty*net rate), Selling Amount (qty*selling rate), and Time (qty*@p). You can switch these columns on or off for each measurement by using the switches.
So, for example, if I defined a Cumulative Progress timeline and then created a Progressive Actual measurement to measure exactly how much of a project I have completed up until now I can switch it on by selecting the Cumulative Progress timeline from the Select Timeline box and then selecting the Progressive Actual measurement from the Select Measurement box. Then I can switch on the columns for that measurement that I want using the switches, in this case, the Quantity and the Net Amount:
This will then give me the following columns within my BOQ:
