Step 4 - Import a Resource List from Excel
Typically you might already have something like a resource list in Excel format or you might be able to pull one from your accounting software. If you do, a much quicker way to create your resource list is to use that information to set up a resource list in Excel and then import it into Trimble Quest, rather than creating all of the resources one by one in Trimble Quest.
In order to do this, however, it is important to create the Excel list in the right format where you include the resource attribute codes and tags that you created in Trimble Quest so that the list is correctly organized immediately upon importation.
Once the Excel list has been prepared, it can be imported by clicking on the +Import button at the bottom left of the screen when inside the Resource module and then uploading the Excel file.
In order to assist you with this, we have put together a Data Importation Template that you can use to create your own Resource List in the correct format. You can find this at the following link:

When using the Data Importation Template, please note that the first tab is an example of the information that you need to add to create your own resource list. The second tab, Resources Blank, is where you can then create your own list.
However, before importing the list into the platform, it is useful to copy it into a new Excel sheet without the headings, as you will not need to import the headings into the platform.
